Throughout her career, she has worked with people from a multitude of professional backgrounds.

Over her professional career, Kara has earned both undergraduate and Masters degrees in Media Management and Digital Design. Her business venture Karasma Media, is the culmination of her accumulated professional and academic experience. It embodies her project management skills and proven ability to envision creative processes, in order to realize her client’s visions in the New Media world of Web 2.0.
Other Services include:
The Karasma Media office is located in Harlem and Kara strongly acknowledges the area’s primacy as an international cultural center. “I have been given the opportunity to create my business with talented people in a world renown creative hub and through New Media, thereby building partnerships with talented people across the globe. All of us recognize that we are in the midst of an amazing creative energy that not only a Harlem Renaissance, but a world Renaissance.”
“The creative energy that’s evident here is extra-ordinary. My web designer, Shon “Chance” Miller, has his studio, Borough Media /Branmixer.com on the 2nd floor of Langston Hughes’ house on 127th Street. Chance is also an extremely talented musician and film producer, and at the Hughes House, there’s also a recording studio and record label Motema, and performance venue. He worked on my site with Gael Perrin, who’s based in Paris, what a blast to be on a conference call with the two of them!”
Kara firmly believes in strong creative liaisons. “One of he most important attributes that a community of freelancers has is its ability to collaborate on projects. “My photo shoot was done a block away from my office by Musa and Crystal Jackson, a remarkable couple running the photography studio, The Lab Uptown.
Karasma Media also works with with large suppliers whose services provide clients with the cutting-edge technology necessary to reach their audiences. Additionally, liaisons with independent designers allow her to provide Branding, Logo Design, Web Design & Search Engine Optimization and Customization of Printed & Electronic Materials to her clients.
Karasma Media is developing a product placement service for clients that will be available in the near future. The service will “place” products within tv shows and theatrical movie entertainment. “Advertisers are quickly pulling away from the use of standard media venues to reach their audiences; this is going to be a hot commodity.” There are so many companies that are dying to reach target audiences -- but with the competition of the internet, TiVo, etc. pulling away viewership from network and cable, they are floundering. With the introduction of cell phone broadcast, Apple TV and other media that take programming from computer screen to broadcast, independent film producers will have more opportunity for broadcast than ever before in history. This makes this invaluable but hidden promotional medium an uncharted and lucrative territory.
Kara attended Pratt Institute from 1991-1994 as a film and fine art major and received a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Certificate in Screenwriting from The New School in 2004. In January 2007, she earned an M.A. in Media Studies with a focus in Digital Design and a certificate in Media Management, also from The New School.
