Are you ready to leave the large firm, legal industry cocoon?
For most of us the plan is: Work for a big company. Earn a big salary. Wrap with a big sendoff.
That’s the formula millions of American workers used for years to map their career trajectory. Conventional wisdom advised workers to land a job with a big company and retire with generous benefits.
But there’s a new breed of worker who is making that formula seem as antiquated as a VHS tape.
We are the ultimate risk-takers — we leave large, successful companies to pursue own dreams even though the economy is reeling.
When I was laid-off from my corporate marketing position at TIAA-CREF 2-years ago, I was on the verge of finishing graduate school, had my LLC and working on my website. The universe aligned with the platform I built, so I dove in!
If you’re contemplating the plung, CNN.com spotlights the few, the proud, the Entreprenuers!
Also highlighted:
- Are you striking out on your own and starting your own project at home?
- The constant news about corporate layoffs.
