Goldman Sachs Hires Law Firm to Shut Down Blogger’s Site
Goldman Sachs is attempting to shut down the blog-site of an extremely cutting author, who’s critical of the investment banks practices and board members.
http://www.goldmansachs666.com.
The site contains articles with headings like:
Does Goldman Sachs Manipulate the Stock Market?, and If Goldman Sachs Robbed Your House, What Would You Do?
Per Telegraph, UK, Chadbourne & Parke’s letter, states the site “violates several of Goldman Sachs’ intellectual property rights” and also “implies a relationship” with the bank itself.
Mr. Morgan has done his homework., with the following disclaimer is the sub-header on the site:
“This website has NOT been approved by Goldman Sachs, nor does this website have any affiliation with Goldman Sachs. This website was designed to provide information about Goldman Sachs direct from the public, and NOT from Goldman Sachs’s marketing and public relations departments. You may find the Goldman Sachs website at www.goldmansachs.com”
Several years ago, Mr. Morgan went through a similar battle with US home builder Lennar. Poor workmanship in a number of homes resulted in the bitter dispute over the cancellation of number of housing contracts, and Morgan contended that Lennar owed him several hundred thousand dollars. That case at was settled out of court for an undisclosed sum.
See Lennar Pacific v. Morgan case review at http://www.citmedialaw.org/threats/lennar-pacific-v-morgan
Morgan stated, “Since I went through this with Lennar, I’ve had advice from some of the best intellectual property lawyers, and I know exactly what I can and can’t do. We’re not going to back down from this.
I’ll be following this case for sure and look forward to your thoughts!

My thoughts on this from yesterday in case you’re interested: http://www.jrdeputyaccountant.com/2009/04/goldman-sachs-of-shit-take-on-bloggers.html
I can’t believe they have the audacity to say he is pretending to have an association w/ GS in the first place.
And this is just further proof that GS is up to some very bad and very subversive stuff over there, otherwise why would they care?
This is just the beginning and bloggers would do themselves well to protect themselves.
Shit… this is still America right? Last time I checked. (see the post for other incidents of blogger muzzling in recent months)

This is another measure to censor the public and one example of many, in my opinion.
Luckily, we as Americans have been given protection under the First Amendment to voice our opinions and thoughts. While some thoughts we do not care to hear or find extreme distaste for, they are still protected.
Take for example the recent rantings of several who want Fox News taken off the air. Even though I do not like Fox News myself, I still don’t want any form of censorship being allowed or supported in any way! Even if we don’t support the views of someone we should always stand up for that person’s right to speak or we may find ourselves muted one day also.
It is obvious to me that GS is corrupt and I support the person who is able to expose them.
Please do keep us informed! Great read.

Groovgal –
Thank you so much for your comments. Yes, First Amendment issues are being pressed to their limits in these days of multi-faceted business challenges. to say the least!
Freeedom of speech is being tested around the globe with social media companies at the heart. I predicted that social would be a turning point for our society/humanity when I chose my grad school major of Media Studies /Digital Studies several years ago.
Today, communicators like us are very ready for change and will be at the helm, ready to take on naysayers as they come.
We’ll keep talking to be sure!

Dear Kara,
Just discovered your very interesting website thanks to Twitter @trademarkblog. Would like to draw your attention to a very interesting ebook “Wall Street and the rise of Hitler” by Anthony C. Sutton http://www.reformed-theology.org/html/books/wall_street/ which highlights the roots of the second world war under very little known, though unbelievebly interesting, facts. Just to help all of you further develop her/his own opinion about Wall Street and the banks.
Kara, I would also like to be able to follow you on Twitter, as I don’t trust Facebook at all
.
Have a happy day,
Philippe.
