Build Your Law Firm’s Tribes and Watch Business Blossom With Social Media
On October 21st 2008, Seth Godin presented the thinking behind his new book Tribes, to an invited audience . This presentation includes a Q&A session with the participants in Seth’s online community www.triiibes.com.
Ellen Di Resta, One of the books contributors, describes them as follows:
Tribes are the social equivalent to breathing. Their existence is like an involuntary process that creates social order. Where we live, what we do for work, and our hobbies are defined by association with Tribes that represent certain activities and attitudes.

Our value is determined by how we compare to others in the tribe, or by how large a tribe we can create.

We all belong to a variety of tribes. It’s just something that happens without much thought most of the time. Since leaving the conventional law firm environment and devoting full-time to my business as a Virtual Assistant I’ve found I belong to more tribes than I could have imagined. I started out in the legal circle (and still have a lot of legal clients); but I’ve also been drawn back to writing and often work with motivational speakers, planners and organizers, etc. Each group has its own “tribe” within which we function. It’s an interesting dance.

Absolutely K.! As a Virtual Assistant your Tribe circle’s pretty vast to be sure! No doubt you’re an extremely good multi-tasker, so you’re dance in rhythmically moving along just fine!
